When I look back at photos of myself from middle school, I cringe for many reasons: my mouth full of metal, my awkwardness (which I’m still hoping to grow out of) and, of course, my questionable fashion choices. And while I can forgive myself for those looks because I was simply a child, there are plenty of adults today who continue to follow fashion trends that they’ll undoubtedly regret.

Fashion trends come and go, but there are some that just make us scratch our heads and wonder, “What were they thinking?” One such trend that has been a staple in the fashion world for years is sagging.
If you’re not familiar with sagging, it’s the act of wearing pants or shorts below the waistline, often exposing underwear or even butt cleavage. While some people may find this style to be cool or edgy, the majority of the population just can’t seem to wrap their heads around why anyone would want to purposely let their pants hang low.
In a recent survey, 45 people were asked to roast some of the fashion trends they hate, and sagging was at the top of many of their lists. Here are just a few of the comments that were made:
– “Sagging is one of the stupidest and ugliest trends out there. It just looks sloppy and ridiculous.”
– “I can’t stand seeing people walk around with their pants practically falling off. It’s like they’re asking to be ridiculed.”
– “Who in their right mind thinks sagging looks good? It’s just plain trashy.”
– “Sagging should have died out a long time ago. It’s embarrassing to see grown adults still trying to pull off this ridiculous trend.”
It’s clear that sagging is not a favorite among many people, and for good reason. Not only does it come off as lazy and unkempt, but it can also be downright impractical. Trying to walk around with your pants constantly sliding down is not only annoying, but it’s also a hazard in terms of tripping or exposing yourself in public.
So why do some people still choose to sag their pants? Some argue that it’s a way to rebel against societal norms or to show off their “cool” style. However, the majority of people just see it as a fashion faux pas that should have been left in the early 2000s.
In the end, fashion trends will always come and go, but sagging is one that many people would be happy to see disappear for good. If you’re a fan of this style, maybe it’s time to rethink your wardrobe choices and opt for something a bit more put-together and flattering. After all, no one wants to be known as the person who can’t keep their pants up.
